She presses,
deep enough to bruise
but not scar.
She pushes,
far enough to falter
but not fall.

I help her up again.
Time after time.

I warm her,
deep to the core.
I warn her,
not to go too far.

She is too cold
and too I am too far gone.
Never enough for her.

But when I press deeper
and she cries louder.

It’s enough for now.
